For the first part to our Preventative Roof Maintenance Series, we will be highlighting the importance of Roof Inspections and Cleaning. This will prevent build-up of debris such as leaves, branches, dirt and trash in gutters, scuppers, downspouts, and drains to ensure proper water drainage.
It's a good process to inspect your roof quarterly or at least bi-yearly. By completing an inspection, it will be easy to see if there have been any damages or debris impeding water flow on the roof. Roof failures and catastrophes are not always from failed roof systems and weather events (acts of god), they can be from heavy amounts of standing water that can cause structural damages.
Contracting a service agreement by cleaning the roof twice a year will prolong the roof life and is required by all roofing manufacturers warranties.
